Duer

Andreas Dür

Project leader

Andreas Dür is Professor of International Politics at the Department of Political Science and Sociology at the University of Salzburg, Austria. Prior to taking up his current position, he was a research fellow at the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (2003-2005) and a lecturer at University College Dublin (2005-2009). He has published a large number of peer-reviewed articles on trade policy, interest group politics and European integration. Among his publications are also Insiders versus Outsiders: Interest Group Politics in Multilevel Europe (Oxford University Press, 2016) and Protection for Exporters: Discrimination and Power in Transatlantic Trade Relations, 1930-2010 (Cornell University Press, 2010). He is co-editor of Trade Cooperation: The Purpose, Design and Effects of Preferential Trade Agreements (Cambridge University Press, 2015). Huber

Robert Huber

Postdoctoral researcher

Robert Huber is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Salzburg. He received his dissertation entitled 'Climate Policy between Responsiveness and Responsibility' from ETH Zurich in 2019. In his dissertation, he assesses the role of populist attitudes as one potential obstacle to far-reaching climate mitigation policy. Furthermore, he researches voluntary pro-environmental behaviour and attitudes towards climate and environmental policies. Writ large, his research focuses on populism, democracy, and climate and environmental politics. Among other things, he has published articles in Political Studies, the Swiss Political Science Review, Climatic Change, and Environmental Science & Policy. Mateo

Gemma Mateo

Postdoctoral researcher

Gemma Mateo is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Salzburg. She received her doctoral degree from the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 2004. Her research focuses on questions of European integration and interest group politics. Among other things, she has published articles in Comparative Political Studies, the European Journal of Political Research and the Journal of Common Market Studies. She has also co-edited a special issue of the Journal of European Public Policy. She is co-author of Insiders versus Outsiders: Interest Group Politics in Multilevel Europe (Oxford University Press 2016). Stiller

Yannick Stiller

Doctoral researcher

Yannick Stiller is a PhD fellow in International Politics at the Department of Political Science at the University of Salzburg. He obtained his Master's degree in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics (LSE) in 2016. As a research assistant, he contributed to the book "The Rise of Investor-State Arbitration" by Taylor St John. In his Master's thesis, he quantitatively analysed the determinants of public opposition in Europe towards the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) between the EU and the USA.

Lechner

Lisa Lechner

Lisa Lechner has a post-doc position (tenure-track) for Methodology and Political Science Methods at the University of Innsbruck. She wrote her dissertation entitled "The political, social, and ecological weight of preferential trade agreements" at the University of Salzburg and McGill University. Before that, she studied International Economics and Political Science at the University of Innsbruck and Audencia Nantes in France. An article based on her PhD thesis has appeared in the Review of International Political Economy. Her research interests are located in the areas of Political Economy, International Relations and Research Methodology. Spilker

Gabriele Spilker

Gabriele Spilker is Associate Professor of International Politics at the Department of Political Science and Sociology of the University of Salzburg. She completed her PhD at ETH Zurich in September 2009. Before joining the University of Salzburg she was a postdoctoral researcher in the "International Political Economy" group of Thomas Bernauer at the Center for Comparative and International Studies (CIS) at ETH Zurich (2012-2013) and a Fritz Thyssen Fellow at the Weatherhead Center of International Affairs at Harvard University. Her main research interests are in the area of international political economy, international cooperation, globalization and environmental politics. Her work has been published in the British Journal of Political Science, European Journal of Political Research, Journal of Peace Research, and Review of International Organizations.

Christoph Mödlhamer

Christoph Mödlhamer is a PhD Fellow and Researcher in International Politics in the Department of Political Science and Sociology at the University of Salzburg. He completed his Master's degree in political science in September 2017 at the University of Salzburg. In his Master's thesis "Democracy, Property Rights, and Sectoral Foreign Direct Investment - A Sector-Specific Re-Evaluation of FDI Determinants", he quantitatively analysed democracy's and property rights protection's influences on disaggregated sectoral FDI-inflows. The research interest lies in the field of international political economy, with a focus on global investment flows. He obtained Bachelors in political science and in communication studies in 2014.

Christina Anderer

Doctoral researcher

Christina Anderer is a PhD fellow in International Politics at the Department of Political Science at the University of Salzburg. She studied Political Science with a focus on International Politics and European Union Studies and obtained her Master's degree from the University of Salzburg in 2017. In her Master's thesis she analyzed the differential impact of preferential trade agreements on foreign direct investments. Her main research interests involve international political economy and international cooperation.

Wahagen Khabayan

Wahagen Khabayan is an undergraduate student in political science at the University of Salzburg and a research assistant in International Relations in the Department of Political Science and Sociology. He has a special interest in Big Data and Statistics.

Presberger

David Presberger

David Presberger is an undergraduate student in political science at the University of Salzburg and a research assistent in International Relations in the Department of Political Science and Sociology. In 2017, he has contributed to a project by Prof. Gabriele Spilker on compliance with WTO dispute rulings. He has a special interest in quantitative methods and trade policy.
